Environment Colorado Staff
Bessie Schwarz is the field organizer for Environment Colorado. Bessie has extensive experience designing, running and winning grassroots environmental campaigns. For the past few years, Bessie has been working closely with Colorado as the federal field coordinator with Environment America focusing on Colorado’s clean water and preservation work. Ms. Schwarz has also directed several citizen outreach campaign offices across the country, raising grassroots funds and building public support for clean water, clean energy and preservation. Bessie received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Carleton College where she studied Philosophy and Environmental Studies. After graduating, she joined Green Corps, the field school for environmental organizing, where she was awarded the Sarah Forslund Scholarship. Bessie developed her love of the environment while visiting the Rocky Mountains with her family in her youth.
