After thousands of members of Environment Colorado and our sister organizations urged the EPA to act, Administrator Jackson announced a plan to restore Clean Water Act protections. We’ve since delivered more than 100,000 public comments in support of clean water protections. We need your help to make sure the public’s voice is heard above the din of corporate lobbyists and special interests.

Rallying Support for Our Rivers

Environment Colorado's Bessie Schwarz released a report showing that polluters dumped 250,000 pounds of chemicals into the South Platte alone. Thousands of Coloradans are joining us in calling on the EPA to restore Clean Water Act protections to all of our waters.

Cotter Corporation stopped polluting Ralston Creek

When we discovered that Cotter Corporation’s uranium processing plant was dumping toxic chemicals into Ralston Creek – a source of drinking water for 1.5 million Coloradans – we helped win a law requiring companies like Cotter to clean up their act or close their doors. In 2011, the company announced that it will stop processing uranium at its mill in Canon City, much to the relief of local residents and activist groups who’d been fighting to protect their families from toxic runoff.
