It was in Colorado, sitting on the Pikes, looking out over the front range and the plains beyond, that Katharine Lee Bates was inspired to write “America the Beautiful.” But those plains are increasingly becoming strip malls and subdivisions. By creating a responsible growth plan, along with better public transportation, we can improve our communities while keeping the open space that makes Colorado special.
