Matt Garrington

Matt Garrington is the Environment Colorado Field Director. His work includes building support in key legislative districts, working with the media, and broadening our activist base. His priority campaigns are forest preservation, rural economic development through renewable energy, and defense of national environmental protections. Garrington started working for the state PIRGs’ citizen outreach fundraising program in 1999, and later became a campus organizer for CoPIRG Student Chapters. Since then, he has also worked on ballot initiatives including Amendment 27, the Colorado campaign finance reform initiative and Amendment 37, the clean energy standard. In 2003 and 2004, before returning to Environment Colorado, Garrington served as field organizer and legislative aide for Colorado State Senator Brandon Shaffer.

 

Pam Kiely

Pam Kiely joined Environment Colorado Research & Policy Center as the Land Use Associate in 2005. Pam is primarily focused on creating livable communities in Colorado—places where people can live, work, play, shop, and attend school. She is motivated to curb sprawl by fighting to limit outlying developments in the Denver-Metro region and by curtailing bad highway projects. Before coming to Environment Colorado Pam was busy researching the importance of the natural environment for recreational and educational purposes as a captain for Outward Bound’s east coast sailing program. Pam is a recent graduate of Harvard University where she studied international relations in the History department.

 

Jaime Sereno

Jaime Sereno is Environment Colorado's Administrative Director.  Jaime works to help the Executive Director in many aspects of directing the organization. This involves overseeing the day-to-day functioning of the organization, implementing organizational plans and strategies, and managing interns and staff. She also oversees annual and day-to-day budget activities. Jaime graduated from Indiana University in 2006 with degrees in journalism and political science.

Keith Hay

Keith Hay joined Environment Colorado Research and Policy Center in the fall of 2007 to work on clean energy and energy efficiency. As a consultant to the wind industry, he authored a report on the economic growth potential in wind manufacturing in Colorado. Prior to working in clean energy, Keith was working on a Ph.D. in philosophy, specifically on the appropriate way to value land in parks and natural resource planning.  This research led him to an interest in sustainable development and renewable energy.  Keith holds one M.A. from the University of California, Santa Barbara and another from the Claremont Graduate University.  He holds a B.A. in English from Wesleyan University.

Amy Keegan

Amy joined the Environment Colorado Research & Policy Center in the spring of 2007. In the lead up to Governor Ritter’s Climate Action Plan, Amy spent the summer and fall working on Environment Colorado’s global warming campaign to get the strongest emissions targets as possible. Currently, Amy’s work is centered on providing the back-up and field work for the organization’s legislative program.  Environment Colorado has played a central role in implementing clean energy solutions for the state and Amy is excited to be a part of the team. Amy graduated from the University of Colorado in Boulder, focusing her studies on environmental policy and climate change.

 

Jake Meffley

Jake Meffley joined Environment Colorado Research and Policy Center as an Energy Advocate in 2005. His primary focus has been to support the expansion of the use of renewable energy sources within Colorado. Jake comes to us with many years of management experience within manufacturing and software development and implementation firms. His direct involvement with numerous types of business ventures in the past allows him to assist in forming affiliations with a variety of organizations that all share a common objective, that of utilizing clean energy sources in Colorado. Jake is a native Coloradoan. Jake’s passion for the protection of the environment in Colorado comes from a rich family history within the state that dates back to the late 19th century. He attended Western State College in Gunnison and later transferred to the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley where he earned his BA. He later obtained his MBA from Pepperdine University in Malibu, California.
