Happy Earth Day!

Like a fresh spring breeze, change has come to Washington.  For the first time, we are celebrating Earth Day with a real opportunity to combat global warming. President Obama has called on Congress to work with him to combat global warming by harnessing the power of clean energy to transform our economy. 

And right now they are listening. Starting today, the House Energy and Commerce committee is holding four days of hearings on a comprehensive clean energy plan that cuts global warming to levels that science tells us we need. 

We want to make sure that they hear from ordinary Americans and not just the special interests. So we are asking you to postpone your celebration for just five minutes today and to take that time to call your member of Congress and let them know you support rebuilding the economy with clean energy and making polluters pay to stop global warming.

Along with Environment America, we are urging would-be Earth Day celebrants to call 877-666-3394, which they set up to provide an easy way for citizens to be connected to their member of Congress concerning the comprehensive clean energy plan.
