Free activist workshop

Environment Colorado in conjunction with the Public Interest Network is organizing a Free Activist Workshop on Saturday, January 23 in Denver. Show up ready for action. We will spend the day moving between large group overviews and small groups to give people an opportunity to learn and internalize skills.

The skills we will focus on teaching are skills passionate activists need to know.

Here's the agenda:
10:00 – 10:15 Welcome/Introductions

10:15 – 10:30 Overview of Working with the Media

10:30 – 11:15 Small Groups: Planning a News Conference

11:15 – 11:30 Overview of Pitching Reports

11:30 – 12:45 Small Groups: Pitching Reports
12:45 – 1:00 Break, Meet fellow area activists

1:00 – 1:15 Overview of Volunteer Recruitment

1:15 – 1:55 Small Groups: Volunteer Outreach

1:55 – 2:00 Wrap-up

The trainers will be experienced staff from Environment Colorado and the Public Interest Network. It's a chance to meet some of the people behind the e-mail addresses. This event is open to the public, and feel free to spread the word to other activists.

The training will be held at the University of Colorado at Denver, Auraria campus. Please RSVP here if you are interested in attending; after you RSVP, Naomi Roth, the training facilitator, will be in touch with directions and more details about the training.
