Don't let clean energy take a hit

Thanks to the leadership of Rep. Diana DeGette and Rep. Mark Udall, the House passed an energy bill included a 15% federal renewable electricity and increase fuel efficiency to 35 miles-per-gallon. Read more here.

Unfortunately, big coal and oil lobbyists were able to block passage in the Senate on Friday, and now the 15% renewable electricity standard is in jeopardy because we don’t yet have the votes we need to win. Senator Ken Salazar has been a consistent champion, while Senator Wayne Allard has gone on record opposing a renewable energy standard.

Call Sen. Ken Salazar today and ask him to fight for clean energy. You can reach his office at (202) 224-5852 and hit “2” to talk to a staffer.

Here’s a sample message: “Hi, my name is ______, and I'm from ______.  I'm calling to thank Senator Salazar for his vote on the energy bill last Friday and to urge him to stand strong for a 15% national renewable electricity standard and put our country on a path for a clean energy future.”

Then, fill out the form to let us know what your Senator told you.
